New tool: Online database of consent decrees ? Business ...

As part of negotiated settlements or court judgments, employers often sign off on ?consent decrees? in which they agree to take (or stop) a certain action or pay damages.

Until recently, there?s been no central place to read consent decrees from other cases. Now the Labor and Employment Law Program at Cornell University has unveiled an online repository of consent decrees, searchable by type of claim. The program director believes HR professionals can use the database to identify potential changes in policies or practices before they ever face litigation.

Find the database at www.ilr.cornell.edu/consentdecree/search.html.
